I would be willing to do trial truck somewhere in Central PA. Too bad more of us don’t live in the US.

I live in New Jersey. I would definitely join you in PA if possible. Lets discuss further and maybe advertise to increase the number of participants. I also am a 14 year old lego fan!

3. UNITED STATES TRUCK TRIAL!, 11 December 2012, 01:53, by technyk32
I might be able to. I live in Central Maryland, but I doubt that my parents would let me do it, because I am only 12. If I am able to, it won’t be for a while, because I am working on a Tatra 6x6 Dualsteer.

I have just started to become interested in Truck Trial. I live in Illinois and would be very interested in having competitions here.
I have a good idea, but need to figure out the front suspension. I need to know: how strong are the 4-Stud universal joints, and if they aren’t good, then is there any other solution that is as (or almost as) compact? Besides using 3-Stud? Being a 12-year-old, I don’t have enough money for the specialized suspension parts and replacement parts if stuff breaks.
Also, anyone know of some cheap power puller wheels?

Hi, I’m also a young builder and know how frustrating it can be to design your first trial truck. About your question... you can use 3L universal joints because they are more compatible with Lego technic pieces. Other options include the piece found in this trial truck http://www.nico71.fr/wp-content/gallery/ladaniva/frontaxlepend1.jpg. And no i dont know exactly where to buy power puller wheels. Maybe you should try bricklink. Try your luck
2. Sorry, NExt generation!, 25 July 2011, 05:17, by 88high
There is not really a possible way to make the suspention compact if you do not have universal joints. I used to have that same problem. Just buy a few 3L universal joints from a Bricklink.com store, and also, sadly there is no such thing as CHEAP power puller tires! It is rediculous these days! try getting a USED pair

If you live in Illinois, another interested member, Thirdwig, lives in Chicago Illinois! contact him for a possible event?

Four stud universal joints are strong, but I broke one in a four link prototype. They are also hard to fit into any trail truck steering system because of the odd size. I would highly recamend you using 3 stud universal joints.

I think that it would be great to have a Us trail truck race. I am located in Las Vegas and I will participate if I can work out the details. It seems as the majority of people interested in the US are under 18 so this will diffidently take some time to get a event together.
